MODEL ACCEPTANCE

Free score providers

A growing number of innovative websites offering personal-finance news, information and education services provide free VantageScore credit scores to their subscribers. Subscribing to select combinations of the sites listed below can give consumers free access to VantageScore 3.0 credit scores from all three national credit reporting companies (CRCs—Equifax, Experian and TransUnion).

With subscriber bases as high as 60 million, these sites, many of which also display ads for credit products, are building tremendous consumer awareness of the VantageScore model. What’s more, they do so in a context that promotes sound credit habits, understanding of credit scores and how credit behaviors affect them, and the role credit scores play in the lending process.
